Nkuhlu Tented Camp - Premium Stays in Skukuza

Nkuhlu Tented Camp offers Tented River Suites and Tent Bush Suites. Each tent includes air conditioning, a fan, mosquito nets, a king-size bed, and a private bathroom with a shower and free toiletries. The kitchenette has a two-plated gas stove, kettle, fridge/freezer, microwave, utensils, and a gas Weber grill on the patio. All tents overlook the Sabie River. The camp is unfenced, so wildlife such as elephants and hyenas may walk through.

There is no restaurant on site. Each tent has a fully equipped kitchen and a gas barbecue for self-catering. The Nkuhlu picnic site next door has a shop and takeaway (closes at 16:00). Guests can order pizza from the kiosk before 4p.m. and eat it on their porch.

Guests can watch animals from their tent's deck. The camp is unfenced, so at night you may hear lions roaring and hippos snorting. Rangers use walkie-talkies to alert you if a leopard or hyena is near. Turn-down service sets the table for dinner and leaves a chocolate and a Zulu bedtime story each evening. No spa, pool, or organized game drives are offered.

Nkuhlu is located on the H4-1 road in Kruger National Park, between Skukuza and Lower Sabie camps. It overlooks the Sabie River. The camp is 22km from Skukuza Airport, 24km from Skukuza Museum, and 31km from Skukuza Golf Course. This location allows you to start self-drive game viewing early, before the park gates open. The nearest shop and takeaway are at the adjacent Nkuhlu picnic site.

Staff are friendly and attentive. They provide daily turn-down service, clean the tent twice a day, and set the table for dinner. Armed rangers accompany you outside the tent after dark. You can contact the ranger via walkie-talkie. Free WiFi is available but weak. Parking is free. No business center, kids' club, or room service.
